Somatic Therapy

Find peace from within: A safe space to connect with yourself

Somatic therapy is a holistic approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body to foster personal growth, healing, and transformation. It involves techniques that help you become more aware of your bodily sensations, beliefs, and trauma held in the body by creating safety from within. By integrating physical awareness with cognitive and emotional insights, somatic therapy aims to promote overall well-being and create a safe space that encourages change.

  • The sessions are between 50-55 minutes and include transition time back into the space to help integrate and move forward with your day.

  • During the session, we incorporate body awareness, movement, visceral manipulation, Somatic Experiencing, Craniosacral Therapy, Relational Somatic Therapy, mindfulness, and embodiment techniques to help you find safety from within, foster a deep connection with your body (and mind), process deep-seated emotions, transform limiting beliefs about yourself and your body, and develop a greater sense of self-awareness and presence.

  • Each session will have a specific intention (what you want to focus on during our time together) written down during the beginning of each session

  • Single session is $180, see the Pricing tab for package options

  • We use movement, bodywork, mindfulness, and embodiment practices to heal past traumas, stuck emotions, and when appropriate, manage flare-ups

  • While this approach is suited for anyone who has the desire to change. I exclusively work with the following populations: autoimmune disorders, long COVID, anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, FND, POTS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, PMOS, eating disorders, dissociative disorders (including DID and OSDD), suicidality, kinesiophobia, chronic pain conditions, suicide loss survivors, and the LGBTQ+ community.

  • We move at the pace of safety and we go only as fast as you’re safe. Meaning, you’ll experience some discomfort but if at any point it becomes unbearable, we slow down.

  • We spend the last 5-10 minutes of each session on integration and transition, offering you space to process the work, identify takeaways, and leave feeling grounded.

Virtual Consultation

I offer a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation to help you get a sense of whether somatic therapy feels like a good fit (and to see if I’d be a good fit). During this time, I’ll share a brief overview of my approach, walk you through what working together may look like, and invite any questions you may have. It’s a low-pressure way to connect and get a sense of what our sessions will entail before making a commitment.

What is Relational Somatic Therapy?

The Somatic Therapy I practice is informed by a relational approach, meaning we pay attention not only to your internal experience, but also to what unfolds between us in the therapeutic space. While I am not formally trained in Relational Somatic Therapy (RST), my practice draws from the core modalities that inform this approach, including body-based awareness, attachment-focused work, and trauma-informed care. I am including this section because their website does a much better job at explaining what you can expect when participating in RST.

This is a style that I incorporate into my sessions in addition to my formal training in Visceral Manipulation, Somatic Experiencing, Craniosacral Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, B.A.S.E., and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

In sessions, you can expect a collaborative and attuned process. We may explore sensations in the body, emotional responses, and relational patterns as they arise in real time. I’ll support you in noticing how your nervous system responds to stress, to connection, and to moments of safety or discomfort while we move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your boundaries.

This relational lens allows somatic therapy to become a space where new experiences can emerge, not just insight. Together, we work with what is present, using curiosity, attunement, and body awareness to support integration and healing.

Compassionate Inquiry

Created by Dr. Gabor Maté, Compassionate Inquiry (CI) is a somatic based psychotherapeutic approach focusing on self-compassion and healing from trauma and addiction. It can help you access and process difficult emotions by cultivating self-acceptance and understanding rather than judgment. Through mindful inquiry and gentle exploration of bodily sensations, we release trapped emotions and explore a connection to Self. This connection facilitates healing from trauma-related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and post-traumatic stress, fostering resilience and emotional regulation.

  • Sessions are 50-minutes

  • Each session will have a specific intention (what you want to focus on during our time together) written down during the beginning of each session

  • We move at the pace of safety and we go only as fast as you’re safe. Meaning, you’ll experience some discomfort but if at any point it becomes unbearable, we slow down.

  • We take the last few minutes of each session coming back to the present, recapping, and discussing homework and takeaways.
